25,000 Mill Workers Enroll for MHADA Housing Scheme

Total 24,900 mill workers have successfully enrolled in the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority lottery for mill workers. The previous year, the Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority had conducted two lotteries. In the first half of 2016 were 2,634 houses, whereas, the number came down to 2,417 houses in the second half.
A senior official said, “The houses for this year’s lottery would be provided by Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority in areas like Panvel, Vasai, and Kalyan. In addition to this, MHADA will also provide a certain number of flats for the lottery. Under the MHADA scheme, each lottery winner would get a 320 sq ft flat. The prices of the flats would be decided according to the market rates once the lottery dates are finalized.” Read More
