30,000 affordable houses will be constructed on private land for urban poor at Sholapur, Maharashtra under the PM Awas Yojana. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has approved and sanctioned Rs 450 crore as central assistance for the project.

After discussion with the  Maharashtra Government and a ministerial Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (CSMC) which is chaired by Durga Shankar Mishra, Secretary (Housing and Urban Affairs) approved the affordable housing scheme on private land under PM Awas Yojana (Urban).
